Kellogg Community College this summer installed eight new sculptures on its campuses as part of the College’s ongoing KCC Triennial Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition.

The project is supported via the KCC Foundation’s Art on Campus initiative, which exists to provide art experiences on KCC’s campuses. All sculptures are located outdoors and are free and open to the public for viewing through 2029.

New sculptures at the College include:

  • “Continuity of a Profile,” a steel and concrete sculpture by R. Mike Sohikian, of Genoa, Ohio, on display now outside the newly renamed Sojourner Truth Building on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
  • “Decoration Unseen,” a steel sculpture by Crystal Scott, of Jackson, on display now at the Eastern Academic Center campus in Albion
  • “Hidden Reinforcement,” a steel with iron oxide patina sculpture by Susan Sieklucki, of Kalamazoo, on display now between the library and Ohm Information Technology Center on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
  • “Ice Dancer,” a limestone and paint sculpture by Calvin Babich, of Sylvania, Ohio, on display now outside the Fehsenfeld Center campus in Hastings
  • “One Wild & Precious Life,” a cast bronze and sandstone sculpture by Michigan-based sculptor Laura Teste, on display now over the library reflecting pool on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
  • “Sambuca,” a limestone and paint sculpture by Calvin Babich, of Sylvania, Ohio, on display now outside the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
  • “Swept Away,” a welded aluminum sculpture by David Torgoff, of East Lansing, on display now between the Ohm Information Technology Center and Schwarz Science Building on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
  • “Wings of Change,” a repurposed metal sculpture by Sunday Mahaja, of Goshen, Indiana, on display now at the Grahl Center campus in Coldwater

High-resolution photos of the new sculptures can be viewed and downloaded from the “2026-29 Triennial Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition” Dropbox folder online at https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/1641udc55cse50bw61g7a/AAsJRnZWAEmcZFfg4IierIU?rlkey=x2ma0admhfcglzjuneweqqqtg&st=zx5babqr&dl=0.

This year’s installation is the sixth time the Art on Campus initiative installed new sculptures via the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition to beautify the College’s campuses. The initiative’s committee also selected sculptures for installation on campus in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024.

The new sculptures will be on display at KCC until at least June 2029.
