Local author, historian and Kellogg Community College Professor Emeritus Liz Neumeyer will return to campus this month to deliver a presentation about interesting stories from the College’s history.
The presentation, titled “Odds & Ends: The History of KCC,” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Kellogg Room of the Student Center on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
The event is free and open to the public, but individuals interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to Scott Seppala at seppalas@kellogg.edu by March 16. Light refreshments will be served.
Neumeyer’s presentation will focus on stories about KCC that didn’t make it into her forthcoming book, which chronicles the history of the College from the early 1990s through the present day. The presentation will be accompanied by an exhibit of related images from the KCC Archives.
Through numerous interviews with past and present KCC staff, students and community members and an extensive review of historical documents, Neumeyer has collected an array of interesting facts and anecdotes about the College. Many will be featured in a soon-to-be published book following up on a volume written by Neva A. Bartel and published by KCC in the 1990s, which covers KCC’s history from its founding in 1956 through 1991.
