Concert Tour of Ireland, Day 2: Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford

Today marks the second day of the Kellogg Community College Choral Union’s Concert Tour of Ireland. Thirty-one individuals left for the country yesterday afternoon as part of the tour’s entourage, including 21 members of the Choral Union.

Here is the group’s day two itinerary as provided by Gerald Blanchard, professor of vocal music at KCC and director of the college ensembles whose members make up the Choral Union.

THURSDAY, JULY 5:  DUBLIN, KILKENNY AND WATERFORD

“Good morning! We have just arrived in Dublin, where the local time is 8:25 a.m. Following customs formalities, we’ll meet our tour manager and transfer to the waiting motorcoach. The first drive of our tour takes us to Kilkenny, often considered Ireland’s most outstanding medieval city. While here, we’ll make a visit to Kilkenny Castle. Later we’ll continue on to Waterford for the overnight accommodations. Following hotel check-in, dinner will be served.”

Those interested in checking out Kilkenny Castle virtually while the lucky choir members get to experience the real thing in person can visit the castle’s website at www.kilkennycastle.ie.
