Dr. Paul R. Watson
Kellogg Community College President Mark O’Connell announced today that Dr. Paul R. Watson will soon become the institution’s new Vice President of Instruction.
Watson, currently the Dean of Academic Success at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will begin at KCC in January 2019, immediately following the retirement of Dr. Kevin Rabineau, KCC’s current Vice President of Instruction.
“Dr. Watson brings a wealth of instructional experience as a faculty member and college administrator and we are thrilled to have him at KCC,” O’Connell said. “He has strong skills in the areas of student success and academic outcomes, both of which will be critically important to KCC as we move forward with strategies to meet the educational needs of the communities we serve.”
A hiring committee at KCC selected Watson after screening applicants and working with the Pauly Group, an Illinois-based academic search consulting firm.
Watson will officially begin at KCC on Jan. 2, 2019, as the College prepares to begin the Spring Semester.

Watson has 13 years of teaching experience at the secondary and post-secondary levels, plus another seven years of experience as an administrative leader in higher education. He has been at Pennsylvania College of Technology since 2011 as a director, assistant dean and dean. Prior to that, he was a high school math teacher in Jefferson, New York, and an assistant professor of mathematics at Houghton College in Houghton, New York.
