The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team won its latest away game 73-54 against Glen Oaks Community College on Saturday.
Leading the Bruins on the court was freshman Audrey DeWaters (Gull lake), earning 14 points and 18 rebounds for the team. Freshman Lexi Parsons (Delton Kellogg) had 12 points and 7 rebounds; freshman Gabby Costello (Bellvue) had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals; freshman Taeshawn Roberson (Schurz) had 10 points; freshman Kalosta Hubbart (Lakeview) had 8 points; and sophomore Jessalynn Genier (Lakeview) had 8 points.
Coach Dic Doumanian said the team played a really good all-around game with contributions from everyone.
“After a great first quarter, GOCC was able to work its way back into the game,” Doumanian said. “But we kept battling and finished strong. Everyone did their part when called upon which was huge.”
The recent win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 8-6; the team’s conference record is 2-1.
The team plays next starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, against conference opponent Lake Michigan College at the Miller Gym on campus in Battle Creek. Admission for all home KCC games is free.
