Kellogg Community College students in need of a computer to complete coursework for their summer classes can purchase or borrow a laptop from KCC for the semester.

Students can borrow a laptop now; the option to purchase a laptop via the Bruin Bookstore will be available beginning May 5.

How to Borrow a Laptop from KCC

KCC has a limited number of laptops available for current KCC students who would like to borrow one for the semester. The Dell laptops are available on a first come, first served basis, and are equipped to provide students access to web browsers, word processing and other basic applications necessary to complete KCC coursework.

To borrow a laptop from KCC for your summer coursework:

  1. Contact the KCC Help Desk at helpdesk@kellogg.edu to request a laptop.
  2. Sign an equipment loan agreement (electronically in advance or in person at pickup) regarding the use and liability for the laptop.
  3. Pick up the laptop on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. After showing your current picture ID, you will receive the laptop, a charging cord and a copy of the loan agreement.
  4. Contact the Help Desk to arrange for the laptop return or for answers to any technical questions about the laptop’s operation.

How to Purchase a Laptop from KCC

Students can purchase a laptop via the Bruin Bookstore website at bookstore.kellogg.edu beginning May 5 and arrange for home delivery or curbside pickup.

KCC students may be able to apply for a federal student loan to assist with their purchase. Contact KCC’s Financial Aid office by email at finaid@kellogg.edu for more information or to determine eligibility.

The first summer classes of KCC’s Summer 2020 semester begin May 11, and all summer classes will be offered in an online format.

All KCC campus buildings and facilities are closed to the public — except for select curbside pickup of materials for summer classes — until Monday, May 18, in compliance with the governor’s recently extended stay-at-home order. Students and staff are advised to continue checking their KCC email daily for updates on the College’s operating status and procedures.
