Kellogg Community College’s men’s and women’s bowling teams returned from Muskegon Friday with fourth and fifth place finishes out of nine teams each in their respective competitions at the Great Lakes Classic, hosted by Muskegon Community College.
The invitational was the first of the season including all nine teams making up the Eastern and Western conferences of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.

- Bryan Foote, of Bronson (Bronson Jr./Sr. High School), 6th place, 607 series score
- Zach Barker, of Charlotte (Olivet High School), 19th place, 538 series score
- Colin McDowell, of Marshall (Olivet High School), 26th place, 520 series score
- Jacob O’Donnell, of Battle Creek (Pennfield High School), 27th place, 505 series score
- Lorin Taylor, of Chicago (Duluth High School), 28th place, 502 series score
Forty-four individual bowlers were scored in the men’s invitational.

- Steffanie Woodman, of Battle Creek (Pennfield High School), 16th place, 491 series score

- Kelsey Kipp, of Battle Creek (Pennfield High School), 31st place, 403 series score
- Jazlyn Lotz, of Battle Creek (Battle Creek Central High School), 34th place, 386 series score
Forty-two individual bowlers were scored in the women’s invitational.
Head KCC Bowling Coach Brad Morgan said the teams are continuing to improve.
“A couple more spares in certain situations today and we would have been right in it,” Morgan said. “Happy with how were progressing and looking forward to next week.”
After the first two competitions out of six for the regular season, both teams are tied for second place with Muskegon in the MCCAA Western Conference standings.
The Bruins return to the road Friday for the Jackson College Invitational in Jackson. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no spectators will be allowed.
