Kellogg Community College’s baseball and softball teams made a splash in the Battle Creek Enquirer this past weekend, with both teams getting nods in articles published on Saturday, the same day both played Lansing Community College at home at Bailey Park.
The baseball team is featured in the article “KCC baseball has bar set high: Bruins look to return to World Series” and the softball team is featured in the article “Lady Bruins look for playoff return: KCC showing improvement.” Both articles were written by the Enquirer’s Nick Buckley.
Of the baseball team — which swept their two games against LCC 9-2 and 11-1 — Buckley wrote, “The bar is always set high for the Kellogg Community College baseball team. Three conference titles and three World Series appearances in the past five years is proof of the Bruins’ sustained success.”
Of the softball team — which split their games with LCC 0-4 and 9-7 — Buckley wrote “For years, the Kellogg Community College softball team sought to establish itself as a major player in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association. Now, the club is 8-5 and 1-1 in the MCCAA West Division, looking make its first postseason bid since 2009.”
