KCC Concert Band announces fall concert season

The Concert Band rehearses in a band room on campus.

The Kellogg Community College Concert Band under the direction of Christopher R. Momcilovich is proud to announce two concerts happening on campus this fall in Battle Creek.

“Echoes of Autum” will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Binda Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave. The program “will reflect the beauty and change of the season, weaving together familiar sounds and fresh musical perspectives that capture both reflection and renewal,” according to Momcilovich.

“A Winter’s Note” will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, also at the Binda. Momcilovich said the concert “will offer audiences a festive and heartwarming evening of music, combining traditional and contemporary selections to celebrate the season of light, togetherness and joy.”

Both events are free and open to the public.

The KCC Concert Band is open to students and community members alike with prior band experience. Beyond performances like those listed above, the KCC Concert Band emphasizes learning, community and the shared experience of making music for all ages.

Rehearsals are held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evenings on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Individuals can sign up for the Concert Band course MUSI 160 (for credit) or MUSI 160C (non-credit) to join the ensemble.

“We want our concerts to inspire audiences while also showing how music connects people across generations,” Momcilovich said. “At the same time, we welcome new members who want to return to playing or continue their musical journey.”
