Kellogg Community College is offering individuals interested in experiencing history the opportunity to visit places many people only read about in textbooks as part of an international travel course to Europe this spring.
The three-credit course — listed in the Class Schedule as INTL 210-02 — will take students on a 15-day trip to see Paris, Munich, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s home in Salzburg, William the Conqueror’s castle and a number of famous World War I and World War II sites, including the D-Day beaches, World War I trenches on the Western Front, Adolf Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest, the Dachau concentration camp and other sites.
Classes for the course will meet from 2:30 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesdays on Jan. 30, Feb. 20, March 27, April 17, May 8 and June 5, and the trip will run May 10 through 24. The cost for the trip is $3,600, which includes a $400 non-refundable deposit but does not include tuition; most students eligible for financial aid should be able to apply their aid toward the cost of the trip.
Interested parties must pay the $400 deposit by Dec. 1 to reserve their seat on the plane but can register for the course at any time. Space is limited, so those who want to learn and travel at the same time for credit this spring should act fast.
For more information about the trip, contact Kellogg Community College history professor Michelle Wright at 269-965-3931 ext. 2217 or at wrightm@kellogg.edu.
