Twenty-five area organizations will be on hand for Kellogg Community College’s Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 19, to help students learn about ways to become more involved in their communities.
The free event is open to the public, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be located near the reflecting pools on the college’s North Avenue campus, 450 North Ave.
Students interested in community service and service learning will have the chance at the fair to learn about the work and mission of participating organizations and about various needs in the regional Battle Creek area.
“The Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair is a great opportunity for students and community partners,” said Kate DeGraaf, service learning manager at KCC. “The fair is a fantastic place to find ways to give back and also become more aware of all the services and resources that are available in our community.”
Beginning this semester, a service learning endorsement became a requirement for many KCC students pursuing an associate degree at KCC.
