Lizzie Albaugh of Mount Pleasant has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the Bruins next season.
Albaugh attended Sacred Heart Academy in Mount Pleasant and was a three-time All-Conference, two-time All-District, two-time All-Region and two-time All-State Honorable Mention player in high school. She hit .440 at the plate during her senior year and broke school records with 22 doubles and 10 home runs.
Albaugh also holds three career school records, including records for most doubles (62), most home runs (23) and most RBIs (183).
Darrick Brown, head softball coach at KCC, said Albaugh could see time at multiple positions while playing for the Bruins, including catcher, first base and designated player positions.
“We are very excited to add a big-time bat to the middle of the lineup,” Brown said. “Lizzie is a doubles/home run hitter that fits the mold of what we are looking for in the 4-5-6 hole.”
