Here are some things going on today at Kellogg Community College.
- Being the day after commencement, you’d think Kellogg Community College would be relatively quiet today. Yet it’s actually gearing up to be a busy day with the Annual Children’s Water Festival underway on the Battle Creek campus. The event, sponsored by the City of Battle Creek and the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center, offers free science training opportunities for fourth and fifth grade students. According to the webpage for the event on the website for the Battle Creek Area Clean Water Partners, “The festival highlights the importance of teaching children why they should protect water resources and influence other people to do the same.” Click here for more information about the event from the Water Partners website.
- The National Junior College Athletic Association’s 2012 Region XII Softball District Championships, which are being hosted by Kellogg Community College at Bailey Park in Battle Creek, finish up today, while the baseball championships begin. Kellogg Community College’s baseball team will enter their tournament as the No. 1 seed. Their first game will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will be played against Ohio’s Cuyahoga Community College on Robert Nichols Field in Bailey Park.
