KCC to celebrate 50 years of nursing with a Nursing Alumni Picnic Aug. 25

Kellogg Community College will celebrate 50 years of nursing education with a Nursing Alumni Picnic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012.

The event will commemorate the admission of the 50th class of students to Kellogg Community College’s RN Program this fall and will take place on the lawn on the north side of the college’s Battle Creek campus, located at 450 North Ave.

Tonie McMaster, assistant director of nursing education at Kellogg Community College, said anyone who graduated from the college’s RN Program is invited to attend for a free lunch and to reunite with other nurses who got their start at KCC.

“KCC wants to recognize and celebrate the many RN alumni from the past 50 years by hosting a picnic,” McMaster said. “The event will be a great way to reminisce and reconnect with fellow nursing colleagues.”

In addition to lunch, the event will include tours of the college’s nursing education facilities, including the nursing simulation labs, the skills labs and classrooms. Also on hand will be representatives from various educational institutions to provide information about advanced nursing education.

Those who wish to attend the Nursing Alumni Picnic must RSVP by Aug. 17, 2012, by visiting www.kellogg.edu/alliedhealth/nursing/picnic.html, emailing 50yearsofnursing@kellogg.edu or calling 269-565-2007.

Participants for whom it is necessary to bring a guest should call 269-565-2007 to make special arrangements.
