Baseball

KCC’s baseball team had another impressive spring season, culminating in conference, state and region championships and resulting in the program’s seventh trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II World Series. While not considered official competitive play, the team plays several games each fall, this year including five games at home at Bailey Park in Battle Creek. The first begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, against Concordia University. For more information, visit www.kellogg.edu/baseball.

Cross Country

KCC’s men’s and women’s cross country teams had a banner fall last year, finishing their inaugural seasons as regional champions and bringing home several individual awards. The teams’ first competition this year will come by way of the Olivet College Comet Open starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte. Soccer

KCC hired Eierí Jordán Salivia, a former professional soccer player, last fall in a full-time position to coach the new women’s soccer team and to serve as the coordinator of the College’s Physical Education Program. Salivia’s new team will play its first home match starting at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, against Ancilla College on the soccer field adjacent to the Miller Physical Education Building. Volleyball

The women’s volleyball team is returning four sophomores to a squad of 12 this year after a tough 2018 season with just eight players on the roster. The team’s first home match of the season begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Miller Gym. For more information about women’s volleyball at KCC, visit www.kellogg.edu/volleyball.
