The Kellogg Community College Choral Union will hit the road this weekend to join the Monroe Community Chorale and Symphony for a concert presenting selections from Handel’s “Messiah” in Monroe.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel located at 610 W. Elm Ave. in Monroe. For tickets or more information call 734-241-3660.
The KCC Choral Union under the direction of conductor Dr. Gerald Case-Blanchard will join the Monroe Community Chorale under the artistic direction of conductor John Tyner.
Soloists will include Case-Blanchard, baritone; Chelsea Hutchins, mezzo; Matthew Snell, tenor; and Haley Sulisz, soprano.
The event will serve as a preview of sorts for KCC’s annual Branch County Community Chorus “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert in December, which will also include selected choruses from “Messiah.” That concert — which is free and open to the public — is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater, located at 27 E. Chicago St.
