The Kellogg Community College baseball team brought their conference record to a perfect 4-0 yesterday with a pair of wins over Ancilla College.
The games were the first home games of the season for the Bruins.
In game one’s 10-0 win, freshman infielder Travis Bolin (Watervliet/Watervliet High School) hit a perfect three-for-three from the plate, including a double and a triple and three RBIs. Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Steve Remesnik (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll High School) hit three-for-four from the plate with a double and two RBIs.
Sophomore right-hander Tyler Kirkland (Sault Ste. Marie/Sault Area High School) pitched all five innings of the mercied game for the win, striking out five.
In game two’s 11-5 win, Remesnik hit another three in four at-bats while freshman infielder/outfielder Cadis Chase (Belgrade, Mont./Manhattan High School) hit two-for-three with two RBIs.
From the mound in game two, freshman right-hander Scott Snow (Otsego/Otsego High School) pitched just over an inning for the win.
The Bruins play next beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, against conference opponent Jackson College in Jackson. The team’s next home game begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, against conference opponent Henry Ford Community College at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.
