Kellogg Community College is known as a premiere institution of higher education, but the College offers more than just classes. KCC is a true community organization, serving the general public in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few KCC services eligible community members can take advantage of beyond the classroom, free of charge.

Free Admission

Admission to all home KCC Athletics events – dozens of events every semester – is free. Additionally, admission to dozens of visual and performing arts events at KCC (except for select mainstage theatre productions in the fall and spring semesters) and in the community is also free.

Free Career Services for Alumni

KCC’s Career Services Office offers free career assistance to alumni – no matter how long ago they attended KCC – including resume building, job interview help and career exploration services. Learn more at kellogg.edu/careerservices.

Free Facility Usage

Individuals and organizations can request to use select KCC facilities up to four months in advance free of charge under certain conditions, as outlined in the College’s Facilities Usage Policy. This includes use of the Binda Performing Arts Center, Miller Physical Education Building and KCC regional center facilities, among others. Visit kellogg.edu/facilities for details.

Free Food

KCC continues its fight against food insecurity on campus with the installation of the Bear Necessities Student Food Pantry, a self-serve food pantry open four days per week to currently registered students on campus in Battle Creek. The food pantry supplements the KCC Foundation’s ongoing Bruin Baskets initiative, which offers free grab-and-go snacks to campus visitors via Bruin Basket stations at all KCC campus locations.

Free Job Training

KCC regularly offers free job training for eligible Battle Creek residents below a certain income level via the College’s grant-funded Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training (iACT) initiative. For more information, visit kellogg.edu/iact or call 269-565-2828.

Free Library Cards

Community members who reside in the College’s service area in Barry, Branch and Calhoun counties can register for a free community borrower’s card at the library’s checkout desk. Community borrowers are able to check out two items at a time and use the reserved community computer for two hours per day. For more information, contact the library at 269-965-4122.

Free Parking

Parking is free at all KCC campus locations for students and community members alike. This is a benefit that saves students hundreds of dollars per year compared to the cost at other schools and universities.

Free Period Products and Condoms

KCC in 2022 began offering free period products in all women’s and gender-neutral restrooms on campus, and this fall the College started offering free condoms in select campus restrooms.

Free Pickleball

The newly renovated and expanded pickleball complex on campus in Battle Creek is available for free public use on a first-come, first-served basis, with reservation available for formal weekend tournaments. Visit kellogg.edu/pickleball for more information.

Free Tuition for Seniors

Senior citizens ages 65 and up who reside within the College district can register for classes tuition-free. Contact the Admissions Office at adm@kellogg.edu or 269-965-4153 for details.
